Jack Lumanog

The Rev. Canon Dr. Jon Ignatius Lumanog was born and raised in Hoboken, New Jersey and a first generation American with parents from the Philippines.

At 19, he was the youngest ever in the Assemblies of God to receive ministerial credentials. After a journey back to the historic Christian church, he was ordained a Deacon in 2000 and as a Priest in 2002. He was received as a Priest into the Anglican Province of Rwanda for the Anglican Mission in the Americas (AMIA) by Bishop Thad Barnum and assisted by Bishop Frank Lyons (Anglican Diocese of Bolivia, Southern Cone) on Jan. 19, 2007. He currently serves as Rector (Senior Pastor) of Christ the King Anglican Church in DeWitt, Michigan and as the Clergy Formation Advisor for the Heart of North America Region of the AMIA.

Lumanog has served in various ministry capacities as Archdeacon to the Bishop and Diocese, Interim Rector, Evangelist, Worship Leader, Youth Pastor and as Home Missionary-in-Training at an inner city church. Father Jack is a 1996 graduate of Cornell College (BA, Religion). Graduate studies include Master of Divinity (Anglican Studies) and Doctor of Ministry (Pastoral Counseling and Church Administration) degrees.

Lumanog serves as the Michigan Wing Chaplain with the United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol where he holds the rank of Major. He served with distinction as Squadron Chaplain for the New Century Composite Squadron in New Century (Olathe), Kansas and has his endorsement to serve as a military chaplain from the Chaplaincy of Full Gospel Churches. In June 2006, Lumanog was honored as the Kansas Wing Chaplain of the Year. Professional memberships include the Catholic Press Association and the Military Chaplains Association of the USA.

He resides in Lansing, Michigan with his wife, Amy, and their daughters, Ainsley Mae and Hadley Grace.
